Hello! My name is Mike Rose, owner and operator of M.R. Tree Service. All my life I have loved the outdoors; in fact my love of the outdoors led me to begin work in the logging industry. In 1984, I became a climber on a logging crew, but, by 1987 the logging industry was struggling, and I needed to find more stable employment. So, with an old Ford pickup and a single chainsaw, I started M.R. Tree Service.
From that modest beginning, the company has grown to a fleet of vehicles that includes bucket trucks, chip trucks and chippers, bobcats and stump grinders. We have recently added an Emergency Response vehicle, which is fully equipped to deal with emergency service calls at night. My crew and equipment are ready to handle any job that comes our way.
When I started this business, my motto was, “Do a quality job for a fair price, and people will call you again.” I still live by that motto. Over the years, I have gained a wealth of information and experience working with the trees. I hope to put my knowledge and experience to work for you, and remember, no job is too big or too small!

They show up!, have the equipment.. (cool equipment too), know what... to do, and get it done! Had them take down an 80 some ft tree, trim 3 other big ones and left my yard with minimal impact considering the equipment required to take care of my really big trees! Mike and his crews are amazing. They have done several jobs for me and have always been within budget, professional and... completed very efficiently. Their cleanup is impeccable and respect for my lawn and property was above and beyond. I am super thankful that Mike responded to an urgent call (a job that was scheduled) but quickly escalated due to the tree splitting almost to the ground. MR Tree did an outstanding job topping some birch trees in our back yard. He also removed some arborvitaes that had... been planted on a fence line. He removed the stumps, cleaned up and hauled everything away. The crew was very professional and did an amazing cleanup. There wasn’t so much as a twig left on the ground. I notice the most recent review was posted five months ago and of the posts there are no negatives. That’s how it... WOULD have been for our take until this week.
We have used Mr Tree and then did referrals. There are several on our road who used Mr Tee after we initiated their exposure of fine work on our property.
This week, a widow neighbor used him via our recommendation. Things have apparently changed. When the price discussion took place, Mike mentioned two routes…..possibly $700 range and likely two to two and 1/2 hours. Also gave the figure of 2-300 dollars an hour. At the finish of the job it took less than one hour. Mike indicated he “bid” the job and my neighbor widow lady said she also heard the by the hour rate. In the end Mike wanted the $700 for less than an hour. After my neighbor said she wanted to negotiate, Mike got testy. With anger said ‘pay whatever you think it’s worth’. I believe she gave him a check for $550. When doing so, Mike said he would NEVER do work for again and she would not find anybody else that would do his type of work for her!!!
When we used him a very few years ago, he had shared he’d just gone through a divorce and was having to basically pull up his bootstraps and start over. He had a very positive attitude. Apparently he is now popular enough to, he has gotten arrogant and greedy.

These guys are awesome! Very reasonably priced and went above and beyond taking down a large tree we were worried... about! The piece of mind of not worrying if the tee would come down on the house is hard to explain but we are so very grateful.
